Spend your Saturday with D.C. Tar Heels at WREATHS ACROSS AMERICA
Join your D.C. Carolina Club, other area alumni groups and hundreds of other volunteers, on Saturday, Dec. 15 at 8:30 a.m. to lay Christmas wreaths on Arlington National Cemetery’s grave sites. The time-honored tradition began in 1992 and has grown as more and more volunteers step forward to lay wreaths. It is an amazing and unique D.C. experience that you’ll never forget.
UNC welcomes all alums, friends, and family to join our team in the 2018 Wreaths Across America ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery. We will meet in front of the Women’s Memorial (pictured above, or look for the UNC banner) for a group photo at 8:30 am
Please dress to spend all of your time outside, wear some Carolina blue, and thick gloves will be helpful!
Once you arrive at the Women’s Memorial, look for the CAROLINA BLUE Use the Metro for stops that can access the cemetery including Roslyn, Pentagon and Pentagon City. Plan accordingly to take the metro (parking is not available at the cemetery. You can park on the other side of Memorial Bridge by Lincoln Memorial & walk over the bridge)
**All attendees must go through security screening before entering the cemetery and bags will be searched. Please allow ample time for crowded conditions.**
